Second Annual Richmond Promise Scholars Celebration

Please join us in this community event to honor our Class of 2017 Richmond Promise scholars who are owning their future, recognize our civic and educational partnerships that are critical to their success, and celebrate what the Promise means to the Richmond community.  

5:00 PM - Food, music, college resource fair
6:00 PM - Award ceremony

The event is free, but space is limited. Student Scholars may bring up to three friends or family members.

Join us at DeJean Middle School for a student-led College Fair, a component of the Richmond Promise Ambassador Program which aims to support WCCUSD’s goal to build a college-going culture by facilitating near-peer college conversations and positive college experiences for students early on. In this event,  9th grade students from Kennedy High will serve as college representatives, and present their research on over 35 colleges to middle school students, families, and community partners in a science-fair format. There will be two 90 minute sessions: Session 1: 10:40-12:00 | Session 2: 1:00-2:10

The Richmond Promise team is happy to announce that we are currently seeking Near-Peer Ambassadors to have college and career conversations with Kennedy High School students beginning next semester!

Minimum requirements:
- At least 18 years old
- From Richmond/West Contra Costa
- Full-time, current college student
- Cumulative and term GPA of 2.5 or above

This is a semester long, paid opportunity for students. If you are an eligible student, apply today, or please spread the word to those you know!
